During SCAD summer programs, participants gain an authentic experience of what it's like to be a SCAD student. While activities and events vary between locations, this general overview covers a typical day.

SCAD Summer Seminars activities

Between workshops, participants have the option to participate in activities at SCAD or to explore the city with SCAD pre-college assistants. Our exciting social activities may include tours of local museums and galleries, visits to parks or botanical gardens, exploring historic downtown Savannah, a dolphin riverboat cruise, or visits to the Georgia Aquarium.

Activities, excursions and sightseeing destinations vary per location and may also include:

• Movie screenings in SCAD theater spaces
• Pool Block Party at The Hive in Savannah
• Silent Disco
• Museum visits in Savannah and Atlanta
• Georgia Aquarium in Atlanta

Medication Policy

Participants are not permitted to store or possess prescription medication during the program. All prescription medication must be turned into SCAD staff during check-in.

Prescription medication must be packaged by a licensed pharmacist in blister packs prior to the participant’s arrival to the program. Medications packaged in baggies, home medication planners, or other containers not processed by a pharmacist will not be accepted. Any prescription liquids, drops, creams, powders, inhalers, or injected medications (“Liquid Medication”) that cannot be blister-packed must be in their original packaging, labeled with the participant’s name and turned into SCAD staff at check-in. The following medications do not need to be turned into SCAD staff upon arrival: over-the-counter medication (“OTC medication”), rescue inhalers, EPIPENs, insulin, seizure medication, migraine medication, and any other medication considered an “emergency medication.” Participants must keep these medications in their original containers with the participant’s names written clearly on the container.
