Juan Carlos Obando

Juan Carlos Obando founded his womenswear and accessories brand in 2008, and his work is defined by the powerful use of color and unassuming approach to eveningwear.

A former advertising art director at both Saatchi & Saatchi and Young & Rubicam, Obando is a self-taught designer, perfecting his craft by deconstructing haute couture pieces and stitching them back together to create new designs. He has played an important role in reinvigorating the concept of modern American eveningwear and was first runner-up for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award in 2013. Obando’s career highlights include designing a capsule collection for J. Crew, as well as being selected by First Lady Michelle Obama to take part in the American Design celebration at the White House.

Obando works and lives in Los Angeles, California.
