Johannes Torpe

Johannes Torpe is creative director of Bang + Olufsen and CEO of his eponymous global design firm, a multidisciplinary studio blending graphic design, architecture, interior design, industrial design, branded space and corporate identity.

Torpe credits his bohemian parents for his creative spirit; he was raised in a commune in Denmark. A musician since childhood, he and his brother recorded No. 1 hits and toured internationally, but Torpe never stopped being a designer. He went on to design concert light installations, becoming Europe’s most sought-after lighting designer, with projects including the world-renowned NASA Nightclub. For 17 years, Johannes Torpe Studios has designed luxury restaurants and retail spaces around the world, and has offices in Copenhagen, Beijing, New York City, and Padova, Italy.
