Faran Krentcil

Style journalist and creator of Fashionista

Faran Krentcil is a New York City-based writer and editor best known for creating Fashionista in 2007. As the digital publication’s founding editor, Krentcil set the tone for the fashion news site, offering a mix of fashion commentary, breaking news and human-interest content.

Krentcil also served as Nylon magazine’s first digital director from 2008 to 2014. She is a contributing editor for Elle magazine and writes for Glamour, W and New York magazines. 
She has collaborated with brands including Tiffany & Co., Marc Jacobs, Topshop and Diane von Furstenberg. She is a Tumblr fashion ambassador and the illustrator for stylist Lou Teasdale's book, "The Craft: DIY Hair and Beauty."

A native of Andover, Massachusetts, Krentcil graduated from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She is a member of The Here and Now, an American artist collective.
