Deanne Calder Andrus exhibition: "United Apart"

The SCAD exhibitions department presents "United Apart," a thesis exhibition by M.F.A. photography student Deanne Andrus. "United Apart" is a visual representation of a modern day marriage. It shows an intimate relationship challenged by a physical separation caused by employment. The struggle to want to stay close and in contact, despite the distance in miles, created a desire to fix the problem. This desire turned into a pictorial collaboration. By creating photographic art, the artist and her husband worked together to visually erase the miles. The resulting pictorial love letters brought them closer together as a result.

Reception: Jan. 18, 2013, 6-8 p.m.

Gallery hours: Tuesday through Friday, 1-6 p.m.

The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
