The Savannah College of Art and Design unveils BAZAAR by shopSCAD, a luxury boutique concept

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA — The Savannah College of Art and Design is proud to unveil BAZAAR by shopSCAD, an exclusive boutique concept located at 318 E. Liberty St. BAZAAR offers an extraordinary collection of atelier-created ready-to-wear garments, accessories, bench-crafted jewelry, ceramics, and objets d'art. These limited-run and one-of-a-kind pieces showcase the elite talent of SCAD students and alumni representing the now and next of design.

An elevated salon-style retail experience, BAZAAR will serve as a destination for collectors, design enthusiasts, and tastemakers seeking exceptional pieces made exclusively by SCAD's illustrious network of creatives. The boutique debuts with a thoughtful selection of works from across the university's celebrated community of artisans, including students Ellie Warnke (B.F.A. fashion), Jinseo Park (B.F.A. fashion), Harris Barnes (B.F.A. fashion), and Timo Krapf (M.A. jewelry); alumni Christopher John Rogers (B.F.A., fashion, 2016), Kate Barton (M.A., fashion, 2021), Emily Dawn Long (B.F.A., fashion, 2012), and Timothy Underwood of Despise Gossip (B.F.A., fashion, 2024); and more. In addition to a revolving curation of distinctive pieces, BAZAAR will present a dynamic calendar of special events, designer appearances, and trunk shows.

BAZAAR spotlights the intersection of artistry and craftsmanship, embodying the university's commitment to entrepreneurial leadership in the creative industries. By positioning student and alumni work within a luxury retail framework, BAZAAR bolsters SCAD's dedication to career preparation at the highest level. The boutique serves as an extension of the SCAD academic experience, where concepts are cultivated in the classroom and evolve into professional execution.

"With BAZAAR by shopSCAD, we're bringing fresh energy and new voices to design retail," said Dirk Standen, dean of the SCAD School of Fashion. "For our students, it's an invaluable opportunity to gain first-hand experience selling their work in a real-world environment. For consumers, it's a chance to discover the next generation of design talent and gain access to designs that in many cases you won't find anywhere else. We see BAZAAR as an ever-evolving creative laboratory with a bold, playful point of view."

Through this direct-to-consumer platform, SCAD students and alumni from the university's prestigious School of Fashion, De Sole School of Business Innovation, and School of Fine Arts gain unparalleled hands-on exposure to the luxury retail ecosystem spanning design and product development, sourcing and merchandising, brand storytelling, client experience, and strategic sales.
