Greg Allman biopic casting by Rabb includes students, faculty and alumni

SCAD performing arts professor Andra Reeve Rabb was selected to do the local casting for “Midnight Rider: The Gregg Allman Story," starring William Hurt, Wyatt Russell, Bradley Whitford, Tyson Ritter and Eliza Dushku. Filming is set to begin in February in Savannah, Georgia.

Among the students, faculty and alumni who netted speaking roles are:

  • Romell Witherspoon (B.F.A. performing arts student) as Jaimoe Johanson
  • Kasey O’Barr (B.F.A. performing arts student) as Roy
  • Luke Dressler (B.F.A. performing arts student) as Bass Player
  • Ryan Gillam (B.F.A. production design student) as Dickey Betts
  • Richard Tyler Tunney (production design chair) as Club Owner

In addition, former casting intern Abba Charmichael (B.F.A., performing arts, 2011) has been hired as the film’s extras casting director and has hired eight SCAD Casting Office interns as casting interns on the set.
