Social media usage

SCAD surveyed its entire student body — at the time, nearly 16,500 students from around the globe — on their social media use. Survey responses identified the most used platforms, favorite types of content, and which sites influenced consumer purchases and habits. Nearly all of the respondents (98%) indicated they used social media platforms, with Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok being the three most visited; though TikTok was only the third most used platform, survey respondents who used TikTok indicated they did so at a daily rate (81%) exceeded only by Instagram. Nearly half of student respondents (45%) had already purchased an item as a result of their social media use.
