SCAD motion graphics ranked No. 1 in the world
The Rookies named SCAD the "Best Motion Graphics School" in the 2017 official ranking of The Best Creative Schools in the World.
This ranking is based on more than 1,800 submissions of portfolios and student work from more than 500 universities internationally. The judging panel, which included Joe Letteri — Academy Award® winner for Best Visual Effects in two "Lord of the Rings" movies, "Avatar" and "King Kong" — considered criteria such as creative skills, technical skills, presentation, variety of skills, raw talent and employment potential.
SCAD offers motion media design degrees in Atlanta and Savannah, Georgia; Hong Kong; and online via eLearning. Students learn from expert, credentialed faculty and partner with the industry's top companies on real-world projects, such as a collaboration with FOX Sports for the opening visual for Super Bowl XLVIII.
SCAD is also the first university to host its own dedicated motion media festival, SCAD CoMotion. Now in its eighth year, SCAD CoMotion features panels, portfolio reviews, networking receptions and a student work showcase. This year's festival attracted such industry titans as Gentleman Scholar, The Mill and loyalkaspar, whose chief creative officer, Beat Baudenbacher, delivered the festival's keynote address.
