  SCAD and the National Museum of Women in the Arts present The In-Between, an exhibition featuring two distinct yet interconnected sculptural installations by artist JuYeon Kim created with the assistance of SCAD students, as well as select faculty and the Fiber Guild of Savannah. The two meditative spaces on viewone fashioned from embroidered panels and the other a wooden construction embellished with textural forms feature thousands of figurative forms presented in an astounding array of poses and circumstances. Preliminary drawings and models by SCAD students will also be on display. Read the press release.

  These short-term programs allow participants the chance to bring forth their creativity in new and exciting ways over the course of a day or several weeks. ....more

  These short-term programs allow participants the chance to bring forth their creativity in new and exciting ways over the course of a day or several weeks. Each class is taught by a certified professor and held in one of SCAD's cutting-edge facilities, or online. These innovative courses are offered to adults and teens 15 and up. Registration for the fall series of workshops is now open to creative learners at all levels and most do not require prior experience. Costs range from $55 to $250, depending on materials (all materials are provided for workshops unless otherwise specified). Class sizes are small to provide more individual attention.   The Savannah College of Art and Design presents the fourth annual Art Materials Trade Show, coordinated by the SCAD School of Foundation Studies to fund student scholarships. Held at the River Club in historic downtown Savannah, the Art Materials Trade Show features manufacturers, specialists and visiting artists in the art and design materials industry who will showcase and demonstrate the best and most up-to-date products relating to art and design, all of which will be for sale to the public at significant discounts. Industry experts will also offer academic, business-oriented, practical and scientific/technical seminars. Trade show hours are Thursday, Sept. 30, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 2, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The trade show and seminars are free and open to the public.
