2012 Reindeer Run design contest
Charleston, South Carolina
The Charitable Society of Charleston puts on annual race, the Reindeer Run, for runners and walkers at all fitness levels that encourages participation from the entire family, including canines. This race, to take place Dec. 1, benefits the MUSC Children's Hospital and continues to grow annually. The society seeks entries for a design contest to promote this event. Learn more online. Sun & Sand, The Mississippi Film and Music Festival
Sun & Sand, The Mississippi Film and Music Festival, seeks entries for its poster design contest, as well as film and music submissions. On Nov. 7 - 11, 2012, Sun & Sand will draw renowned actors, musicians, producers, directors and other entertainment-industry trendsetters to the sugar-white shores of Mississippi's Gulf Coast. This five-day event will connect film and music enthusiasts across the nation with respected, rising and aspiring players in all facets of the filmmaking, music, video game and digital entertainment world. Foundation studies blog online exhibitions
The foundation studies blog hosts online exhibitions of student work fall, winter and spring quarters. Eligible work must be completed in a foundation studies class at SCAD and must comply with the submission guidelines. Students may submit up to three images per exhibition. Submissions for the fall term online exhibition will be accepted May 14 - Aug. 31, 2012. Learn more.

Teens Drive Smart Video Contest
Grab your camera - it's time for the Teens Drive Smart Video Contest, now accepting entries until June 22. This is your chance to jump in the driver's seat and show how we can all be safer behind the wheel. If you've got a compelling, creative idea related to safe driving, make a short video (25 or 55 seconds) about it, then register and enter it here for a chance to be a 2012 Teens Drive Smart Video Contest winner! Past winning videos have aired more than 78,000 times, with almost 970 million people viewing them on TV stations from coast to coast. The top filmmaker will receive a $25,000 college scholarship AND have the video shown on MTV's Jumbotron in Times Square in New York City. Learn more online.

FATE Conference call for papers
SCAD is hosting the 2013 national biennial FATE Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Savannah. The theme of the conference, "postHaus," is "Instructing, Constructing and Connecting with Students in the 21st Century." There will be approximately 100 sessions in three days with all sessions running 90 minutes in length. Learn more and submit paper.
