SCAD presents "Fashion Media Today: How Did We Get Here and What Should We Expect?" a conversation with Derek Blasberg, Vanity Fair contributing editor and CNN Style host, and WSJ. Magazine Editor-in-Chief Kristina O’Neill. Blasberg and O’Neill will discuss industry trends and share insight on covering fashion for some of the world’s most notable media outlets.

Blasberg, who is also a New York Times’ bestselling author, has contributed his candid commentary and vivacious firsthand accounts of A-list celebrity happenings to a number of international publications and news channels, including Harper's Bazaar, Interview, The New York Times, WSJ. Magazine and Style.com.

As host of the new monthly TV show CNN Style, Blasberg is an authority on the worlds of art, architecture, fashion and design, covering everything from portrait photography to fashion weeks and red carpet events, to counterculture couture and more.

O’Neill oversees all editorial content for WSJ. Magazine, a luxury lifestyle monthly launched in 2008. Her original ideas help connect the glossy magazine with the daily newspaper and her expertise catalyzed the evolution of the publication into a leading source of information for travel, fashion, food, beauty and business news.

Prior to joining WSJ in 2012, O’Neill worked as executive editor of Harper’s Bazaar, where she oversaw the extension of the brand, collaborated with writers and photographers, and was integral to the magazine’s redesign. She has also held editorial positions at New York magazine and Time Out New York.

This event is presented as part of SCADstyle 2017 and is free and open to the public.
