Naughty or Nice film series: 'The Great Gatsby (1974)'
Join us for a viewing of “The Great Gatsby (1974)” as part of the Naughty or Nice: Cinema’s Fashionable Femme Fatales film series spotlighting some of the silver screen’s most memorable vixens.
Living among extravagant Long Island, New York, mansions, modest Midwesterner Nick Carraway (Sam Waterston) becomes fascinated with the lavish parties thrown by his neighbor Jay Gatsby (Robert Redford) in this award-winning adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic 1925 novel. However, Carraway soon realizes that Gatsby, despite being a self-made millionaire, wants nothing more than to win back the love of socialite Daisy Buchanan (Mia Farrow), who is now married to Tom Buchanan (Bruce Dern).
After the showing, take a deeper look at the classic characters and engage in a discussion with SCAD professors.
