Scholarships may be available to currently enrolled SCAD students based on academic achievement and/or financial need. To be eligible, students must be on schedule to complete a minimum of 45 undergraduate hours or 15 graduate hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. The scholarship application for current students is available online through MySCAD, April 1-30 only. Applicants are automatically considered for all applicable scholarships. Scholarships are disbursed to students the following academic year by the student financial services department.

Scholarships for currently enrolled SCAD students are offered through the department of institutional advancement and administered by student financial services.

All-location and SCAD Savannah institutional scholarships

Advertising Department Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, undergraduate student seeking a degree in advertising. Eligible applicants must have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and have participated in a special project such as NASC, Interdisciplinary Collaboration, or The Pitch Society volunteer work. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.
 
Alumni Endowed Scholarship
This US $9,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate SCAD student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.7 who demonstrates significant financial need, involvement in the  community and/or the college and an interest in alumni association involvement after graduation. Eligible applicants must have completed  at least 60 credit hours as an undergraduate student or 30 credit hours as a graduate student at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Student portfolios are required, if applicable, for all finalists.

Animation Pegbar Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,900 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time graduate or undergraduate student majoring in animation. Eligible applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5, 45 undergraduate or 15 graduate credit hours completed at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Anniversary Scholarship
This US $6,700 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a grade point average of at least 3.0 who will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Recipients must demonstrate exceptional leadership and involvement in the college community by serving as a leader or officer in an official college club or activity.

Architectural History Department Endowed Scholarship

This US $1,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, undergraduate or graduate student seeking a degree in architectural history at SCAD Savannah. Eligible applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and have completed 45 undergraduate hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter and 15 graduate hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Finalists will be required to submit a paper in place of a portfolio.

The Arnell Lewis Land Art Scholarship
This US $30,600 scholarship is awarded annually to three female undergraduate students each with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and a permanent address in Georgia, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina or Florida. The recipients must demonstrate financial need and be pursuing a course of study in painting, ceramic arts, drawing, illustration or sculpture. This scholarship is renewable.

BB&T Scholar Endowed Scholarship
This US $5,300 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time student who will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, and who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the following scholarship criteria: the applicant's permanent address must be within the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia or West Virginia.

Ben Tucker Endowed Scholarship
This US $3,300 scholarship will be awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student who is African-American and is from the Savannah/Chatham County area. The student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, and have demonstrated financial need. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the established criteria.

Betty Anderson Endowed Scholarship
This US $4,000 scholarship, established in honor of SCAD accountant Betty Anderson, is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must have a record of community involvement and leadership at the college as well as demonstrated financial need. Applicants must submit a brief statement of purpose with application. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Betty Cummings Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Newton family in recognition of Betty Cummings, a dedicated longtime employee and positive representative of the Savannah College of Art and Design. This US $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate SCAD Savannah student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must have earned 45 credit hours at SCAD, demonstrate financial need, leadership ability and community service.

Board of Visitors Scholarship
Two scholarships of US $20,200 are awarded annually to two full-time undergraduate students who have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. The scholarships are renewable as long as the recipients continues to meet the following scholarship criteria: demonstrated financial need and service as an exemplary representative of the college in the community.

Board of Visitors Scholarship II
This US $20,200 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student who will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, and has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the following scholarship criteria: demonstrated financial need and service as an exemplary representative of the college in the community.

The Brian S. Boylston Scholarship for Sustainability

This USD $500 scholarship is offered to a full-time graduate student majoring in Design for Sustainability. Eligible applicants must exhibit innovative thinking and action in the realm of sustainability through a short presentation and a poster design. Applications are accepted through the office of Design for Sustainability. Please contact Ursula Tischner for deadlines and application process.

 

The Brightstar Scholarship
This US $15,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, undergraduate student majoring in fibers or interior design at SCAD's Savannah campus.  Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5, exhibit leadership ability, have a recent record of community service, demonstrate financial need, and will have completed 90 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.  The scholarship may be renewed to recipient to allow completion of course work for graduation as long as established criteria is still met. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Bug Away Specialists Inc. Scholarship Fund

This US $700 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and demonstrates financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Buxton Family Endowed Scholarship
This US $700 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in sequential art, who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. and demonstrated financial need. The recipient will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

The Carson Company Scholarship
This US $3,600 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Recipient must be an architecture major who demonstrates financial need. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship criteria.

Charlie and Marie Pepe Scholarship
This US $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship criteria: academic excellence and financial need demonstrated through participation in the work-study program.

Chih-Chun Chang Memorial Scholarship
This US $1,500 scholarship, established in memory of graduate computer art student Chih-Chun Chang, is awarded annually to an international graduate student majoring in animation, motion media design, interactive design and game development or visual effects who demonstrates financial need, is involved in community activities and has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

Corbin Lee Flowers Scholarship
This US $700 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with demonstrated financial need and a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Craig Harding Memorial Scholarship
This US $1,100 scholarship, established in memory of illustration alumnus Craig Harding, is awarded annually to a current undergraduate student majoring in illustration who has a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0, has a record of community service, and demonstrates financial need.

Dan Fantauzzi Memorial Scholarship
Established in the memory of Professor Dan Fantauzzi, who chaired the graphic design department for 15 years, this US $1,500 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be a graphic design major and demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Dennis Bowman Scholarship
This US $800 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Digital Media Endowed Scholarship

This US $1,700 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. Eligible applicants must have declared one of the following as a major: animation; motion media design; interactive design and game development; sound design; or visual effects.

Donald and Nancy Emmeluth Teaching Scholarship
This US $1,500 scholarship is awarded annually graduate student pursuing an M.A.T. in art or drama from SCAD Savannah. Eligible applicants must have completed at least 15 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5, demonstrate leadership ability, and have a recent record of community service. This scholarship is renewable.

Earle W. Newton Hogarth Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the Newton family to honor the memory of Earle W. Newton II, Ph.D., and his keen love and appreciation of the art of William Hogarth. This US $5,000 merit-based scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time SCAD Savannah art history student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5. The recipient must have earned 60 undergraduate or 30 graduate credit hours at SCAD. Within the application essay, applicant must address his or her appreciation of William Hogarth and his work.

Eric Shea VanScoten Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of Eric VanScoten, who planned to attend SCAD, this US $850 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be an industrial design major and demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Fibers Department Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,900 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, undergraduate or graduate student, majoring in fibers at the SCAD Savannah campus. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and demonstrate financial aid and leadership ability. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Film and Television Department Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, graduate student, majoring in film and television at the SCAD Savannah campus. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75, have completed 15 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, demonstrate financial need, and exhibit leadership ability. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Florence R. Inman Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,700 scholarship is awarded annually to one interior design or historic preservation undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

Foundation Studies Scholarship
This scholarship competition is open to first-year students who have completed a minimum of one foundation studies course at SCAD. The winner receives a US $10,000 tuition scholarship.

The Friedman Family Endowed Scholarship
This US $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a domestic undergraduate student majoring in graphic design who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

Gar Day Ding Memorial Scholarship
This US $1,900 scholarship, established in memory of architecture professor Gar Day Ding, is awarded annually to a student in the architecture program. Applicants must be enrolled full time, have completed ARCH 252 Structures I and ARCH 352 Structures II, be currently enrolled in ARCH 406 Architecture Design Studio VI, present a high quality portfolio of work in the structures related courses and design studio, and maintain grade point average of at least 3.0 within the major and a 2.0 overall. The scholarship award is based on the merits of the applicant's structures performance in coursework and studio work as shown in an academic performance review held in the spring quarter of the fourth year of study. Both domestic and international students may apply for the scholarship. An application form is available in the architecture department office. Submission of an application form, official transcript and a portfolio is required for scholarship consideration. Students may apply only once for this scholarship.

Gelman Trust Scholarship
This US $1,200 scholarship is awarded annually to a minority (priority is given to students of Hispanic descent), full-time graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Eligible applicants must be painting graduate students who have completed a minimum of 15 credit hours at SCAD.

Graduate Studies Department Endowed Scholarship
This US $600 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time student seeking his or her graduate degree. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and demonstrate financial need.

Gregory Hines Performing Arts Scholarship
This US $1,700 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate performing arts student who demonstrates financial need, has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and who will have completed 45 or more credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Hallmark Scholarship for Flash Animators
This US $3,000 scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in animation that demonstrates superior digital cel animation work. Eligible applicants will have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Hank Stembridge Scholarship
This US $2,600 scholarship is awarded annually to an interior design student based on the merits of a mandatory portfolio review. Applicants must be enrolled full time in the undergraduate interior design program, have successfully completed INDS 210 Interior Design Studio II, possess a high-quality portfolio and maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0 within the major and 2.0 overall.

Hill-Fulp Scholarship Fund

This US $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time M.A.T. or graphic design student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and be a permanent resident of North Carolina. The scholarship is renewable up to five years as long as the recipient continues to meet the established criteria.

Hugo Boss Fashions Inc. Endowed Scholarship
This US $4,400 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate fashion student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. This scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship criteria.

Hunter Maclean Endowed Scholarship

This US $800 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and a recommendation from a faculty member. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. This scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship criteria.

Industrial Design Department Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,800 scholarship is available to a full-time industrial design or design management student enrolled at SCAD Savannah who will have completed 60 undergraduate or 15 graduate hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Recipient must demonstrate financial need, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, demonstrate leadership ability and be involved in community service. Finalists must submit a portfolio for review. This scholarship is renewable as long as recipient continues to meet established criteria.

Integrated Project Solutions Scholarship
This US $4,400 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with a grade point average of at least 3.0 in any major.  Recipients will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

International University of Monaco Scholarship
The International University of Monaco is offering tuition waivers to SCAD alumni for its Master of Business Administration program or Master of Science in luxury goods and services program.

Jack Leigh Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of photographer Jack Leigh, longtime friend and mentor to SCAD students, this US $1,400 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be a photography major and demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

James W. Bostwick III Scholarship
This US $2,100 scholarship, established in memory of graphic design professor Jim Bostwick, is awarded annually to an undergraduate student majoring in graphic design. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

Jason Andler Memorial Scholarship
This US $800 scholarship, established in memory of computer art student Jason Andler, is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must have a record of community service and demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter.

Jay Bowen Memorial Scholarship
This US $800 scholarship is awarded annually to a domestic student originally from the state of Georgia, with preference given to those from rural communities, and currently enrolled at SCAD Savannah. Eligible applicants will be full-time students seeking their undergraduate degrees, hold a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5, demonstrate financial need, and have a history of leadership ability or community service as illustrated by holding a leadership or official position within a club or organization. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Jennifer B. Reis Scholarship
This US $2,000 scholarship is awarded to a full-time, graduate student seeking a degree in advertising design. Eligible applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need.

 

Jeremy Mullins Memorial Sequential Art Scholarship

Two US $500 scholarships are awarded annually in memory of Professor Jeremy Mullins to provide travel funding for graduate students majoring in sequential art. Eligible applicants must be attending a national or international conference, and be appointed by the review committee created by the chair of SCAD's Sequential Art department.

 

Jim Alley Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of computer art professor Jim Alley, who taught at SCAD for 16 years, this US $1,400 scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be a graphic design major who will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Jo Smith Fetzer Memorial Scholarship

Two US $1,000 scholarships are awarded annually to a full-time male and female undergraduate, domestic student pursing a degree in painting from SCAD Savannah. Eligible applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0, demonstrate leadership ability, have a recent record of community service, and have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. This scholarship is renewable.

John Lebey Scholarship
Established in memory of Savannah Architect, John Lebey, this US $2,500 scholarship is awarded annually. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.75, be enrolled as a graduate student or have completed at least 90 hours as an undergraduate student, and majoring in architecture or urban design. The recipient must possesses a keen interest in expanding their intuitive capabilities in design through physical drawing methods. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio, which must demonstrate a commitment to developing communication through hand drawing, sketching, drafting, and rendering. In developing these methods, the student will illuminate the role of art in the making of architecture.

Josh Yu Chinese Painting Scholarship
Awarded by the SCAD Painting Department, two US $500 scholarships are awarded to outstanding students who have completed PNTG 334 Chinese Painting. Students may be eligible for nomination by painting faculty each February.

Karin Shier Memorial Scholarship
In memory of fashion student Karin Shier, two US $3,000 scholarships are awarded annually to exceptional undergraduate students pursuing degrees in fashion. The first scholarship is awarded to a freshman or sophomore majoring in fashion who demonstrates financial need. The second scholarship is awarded to a senior also majoring in fashion who demonstrates outstanding fashion skills and creativity, as well as a willingness to help other students.

Kiah Painting Scholarship

This US $600 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in painting with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 who demonstrates financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Knox Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time historic preservation undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Kole Family Endowed Scholarship
This US $800 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate minority student with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Eligible applicants must have completed at least 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter and demonstrate financial need. Finalists of this scholarship will be requested to submit two letters of recommendation from current professors.

Larry W. Forrest Memorial Writing Competition
This competition awards two scholarships at US $300 and two scholarships at US $200 through the Art History Department to recognize students' original research and exceptional writing skills in art history. Current students of any major are eligible and may submit research papers prepared during the preceding Spring, Summer, Fall, or Winter quarters.  Finalists will be asked to present their original research at symposium held at SCAD Savannah during the Spring quarter. Liberal Arts and General Education Departments Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, undergraduate student majoring in liberal arts/general education. Eligible applicants must have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.75, demonstrate leadership ability, and have community service experience.

Linda Jane Messerschmid Endowed Scholarship

Established in memory of Linda Jane Messerschmid, a Maryland art teacher who assisted her students in obtaining admission and scholarships to SCAD, this US $2,800 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 who demonstrates financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Logan Eugene Felps Memorial Scholarship
This US $3,100 scholarship is awarded annually to any domestic, undergraduate student of any year majoring in animation or industrial design.  Eligible applicants must be full-time, maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average, and demonstrate both leadership ability and community service. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio. This scholarship is renewable.

Make a Difference Scholarship
Created by Susie Clinard, a 1983 historic preservation graduate and the 1994 Outstanding Alumna of the Savannah College of Art and Design, this US $3,800 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in historic preservation who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Mason-Conners Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,100 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in interior design who demonstrates financial need. Eligible applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and must have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Mauldin Scholarship
This US $1,200 scholarship, established by Michael and Judy Mauldin, is awarded to a full-time undergraduate African American or Hispanic student, who is pursuing a degree in fashion, film and television, sound design, performing arts, production design or advertising. Eligible applicants must be permanent resident of Georgia or North Carolina, maintain a grade point average of at least 3.0, and demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the scholarship criteria.

Jewelry and Objects Department Scholarship

This US $2,000 scholarship is split among four students majoring in jewelry and objects. The scholarship is awarded based on a portfolio competition conducted by the Metals and Jewelry department faculty.

Michael P. Archer Memorial Scholarship
This US $1,200 scholarship was established in memory of SCAD painting student Michael P. Archer and is intended to provide assistance in purchasing art supplies. The recipient must be an employed, undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5. Eligible applicants must have completed a minimum of 25 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Michael Zeiger Memorial Scholarship
This US $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to full-time, domestic student seeking a bachelor's degree within the School of Fine Arts (including painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture). Eligible applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0, demonstrate financial need, and exhibit leadership ability. The recipient's primary campus must be SCAD Savannah or SCAD Atlanta, but the scholarship will allow travel to Lacoste or Hong Kong for up to one year. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio. This scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the established criteria.

The Mike Wieringo Scholarship
This US $2,300 scholarship was established in memory of comic book artist Mike Wieringo. The recipient of this scholarship must be a full-time undergraduate student studying sequential art. All applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be expected to submit a portfolio. This scholarship is renewable up to three times as long as the recipient continues to meet established criteria.

Monotype Imaging Scholarship
This US $5,000 scholarship is awarded to a full-time student currently enrolled in graphic design or advertising. Eligible applicants must demonstrate noteworthy performance in one or more aspects of the typographic arts or display an interest in font technologies in addition to maintaining a 3.0 grade point average. Faculty recommendations will be collected from each finalist.

Nancy N. Lewis Endowed Scholarship
Established in honor of Savannah portrait artist and patron of the arts Nancy N. Lewis, this US $5,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a grade point average of at least 3.0 who demonstrates financial need. Recipient must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Notrica Family Endowed Scholarship
This US $3,500 scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student with demonstrated financial need and a record of community service. In addition, eligible applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart Endowed Scholarship
This US $500 scholarship is available to a full-time, international student with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Recipient must have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter and demonstrate leadership ability. This scholarship is renewable as long as recipient continues to meet established criteria.

Painting Memorial Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,900 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, graduate student, majoring in painting at the SCAD Savannah campus. Eligible applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

The PaintPals Scholarship
This US $3,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student currently enrolled at SCAD Savannah or SCAD Atlanta who comes from disadvantaged circumstances and has been a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs in the United States. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need and hold a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Faculty recommendations will be collected from each finalist.

Parents Association Scholarship
This US $10,400 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student who has a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be an exemplary representative of the university, demonstrate financial need, and have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours as an undergraduate student and a minimum of 30 credit hours as a graduate student at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Faculty may be asked for recommendations, and top finalists will be interviewed.

The Parker's Companies Scholarship
This US $1,400 scholarship is awarded annually to the architecture degree candidate who best combines scholastic achievement with a design philosophy that supports structural excellence and aesthetic cohesion within existing environments. Eligible applicants must have completed a minimum of 90 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.

Photography Endowed Scholarship
This US $2,800 scholarship is awarded to a full-time, international undergraduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be pursuing a degree in photography and demonstrate financial need. The recipient must also have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. This scholarship is renewable up to three years as long as the recipient continues to meet the established criteria.

Precision Computer Services Scholarship Fund
This US $1,500 scholarship is awarded annually to one full-time graduate student. The recipient must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and exhibit community involvement.

Redmond Family Scholarship

This US $500 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, undergraduate or graduate student enrolled at SCAD Savannah.  Eligible applicants must be seeking a degree in industrial design with an emphasis in healthcare, maintain a minimum GPA of 3.75, demonstrate initiative and leadership in college or community activities, and will have completed 45 undergraduate or 15 graduate credit hours at SCAD by the end of Spring quarter.

Richard L. Allen Jr. Memorial Endowed Scholarship
This US $3,900 scholarship is open to full-time undergraduate students with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 or higher who demonstrates financial need. Priority will be given to students who have lost a parent or spouse through a tragedy.

Robert Andrew Devries Memorial Scholarship
This US $800 scholarship is awarded annually to a student who will have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Priority will be given to a student with a neurological disability. The award is not renewable.

Robert Duffy and Marc Jacobs Scholarship for Fashion Design

This US $7,300 scholarship is available to a full-time, fashion design student with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need, exhibit leadership skills, and possess community service experience. Finalists must submit a portfolio for review. This scholarship is renewable as long as recipient continues to meet established criteria.

Sachiko Honda Silhouette Scholarship
This US $1,200 scholarship will be awarded to a rising senior who is majoring in fashion. Applicants must provide a portfolio, resume, CAPP report and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.75. The fashion department chair and two design faculty members will make recommendations.

Sean Moran Memorial Scholarship
In memory of illustration student Sean Moran, this US $1,600 scholarship is awarded annually to a student who is employed, who demonstrates financial need, and who maintains a 3.0 grade point average in his or her major course of study.

Sequential Art Department Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, undergraduate or graduate student majoring in sequential art. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5, have completed 45 undergraduate and 15 graduate hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, and demonstrate financial need.

Sheldon and Zelda Tenenbaum Scholarship
This US $600 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need and will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. The  scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the established criteria.

Silver Scholarship
This US $1,900 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student. The scholarship award must be used to offset the cost of tuition, room and board or books and supplies. The recipient must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 and have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and show exceptional leadership and involvement at the college, with a record of community service.

Sirlin Family Scholarship
This US $1,000 scholarship is available to a full-time, international student studying at SCAD-Savannah. Recipient must maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average or higher, demonstrate financial need and community service. Priority will be given to a student from Spain, Belgium or another European country. This scholarship is renewable as long as recipient continues to meet established criteria.

Stage Front Presentation Systems Endowed Scholarship
This US $600 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a grade point average of at least 3.0 who demonstrates financial need. Recipients will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. The scholarship is renewable as long as the recipient continues to meet the criteria.

Stanton Performing Arts Scholarship
This US $3,100 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time undergraduate student pursuing a degree in performing arts or production design. The recipient must demonstrate a strong work ethic, achieve superior class accomplishments, display a positive and scholarly attitude in all major coursework, serve as an active ensemble member and support the methodology and mission of the department.

Steven Myers Scholarship in Art History

Created in memory of beloved art history professor, Steven Myers, this US $2,200 merit based scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in art history at SCAD Savannah. The recipient must demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5, and have earned a minimum of 60 undergraduate credit hours or 30 graduate credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. Finalists will be asked to submit a research paper, opposed to a portfolio.

Student Media Endowed Scholarship
This US $1,900 scholarship is available to a student in a leadership position in District, The Connector, SCAD Radio, or SCAD Atlanta Radio. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need and have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Recipient will be determined by the Student Media Council.

Target Diversity Scholarship
This US $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate, full-time, minority student studying at SCAD Savannah and seeking a degree in fashion, fibers, industrial design, graphic design, furniture or interior design. Eligible applicants must demonstrate academic excellence through a cumulative minimum grade point average of 3.0, exhibit financial need, demonstrate leadership ability, have a recent record of community service or student involvement, and will have completed at least 60 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Finalists will be requested to submit a portfolio.

Thomas McCabe Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of Thomas McCabe, who served SCAD for a decade, this US $1,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time graduate student majoring in painting. The recipient must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Additionally, qualified applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by spring quarter. Careful consideration is given to artistic ability; a portfolio review submitted by spring quarter is required.

Tiffani Taylor Painting Scholarship
This US $800 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, undergraduate, painting major who will have completed at least 90 credit hours at SCAD by then end of spring quarter. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need, maintain a 3.8 GPA, demonstrate leadership ability, and have a record of community service. In addition, candidates must submit 3 letters of recommendation from faculty and/or employers. Finalists will be contacted to submit a portfolio with 5-10 images.

Traci Haymans Memorial Scholarship
Established in memory of professor and illustration department chair Traci Haymans, who taught at SCAD for 21 years, this US $5,900 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate or graduate student pursuing a degree in illustration with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The student will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Wahrman Furniture Design Scholarship
This US $1,700 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must be a furniture design major and demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Wells Fargo Scholars
Two US $2,400 scholarships are awarded based on academic standing and financial need to undergraduate and graduate students from the southeast: Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas and Washington, D.C. Eligible undergraduate applicants must have completed more than 90 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.

Weihua Zhang Scholarship for Tomorrow's Writers
This US $500 scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 in a writing major or creative writing minor.

Will Eisner Sequential Art Scholarship

This US $2,000 scholarship is available to a full-time, sequential art student that demonstrates financial need. Finalists must participate in a mandatory portfolio review.

The William Randolph Hearst Foundation Scholarship
This US $9,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a minority, full-time undergraduate student with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient must have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of the spring quarter. Both domestic and international students may apply.

SCAD Atlanta institutional scholarships

SCAD Atlanta scholarships may be awarded to current students enrolled at the Atlanta campus based on artistic and/or academic achievement and financial need. Many of these scholarships originated at the Atlanta College of Art and were established in memory or honor of patrons of the arts in Atlanta.


Ben Shute Scholarship
Established in memory of Ben Shute, co-founder of the Atlanta College of Art, this US $5,000 scholarship is awarded to SCAD Atlanta student who has concluded his or her junior year with a total of 135 credit hours. The recipient will be selected on the basis of excellence in representational painting, drawing or graphic design.

Binders Art Supply Scholarship Fund
This US $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time, SCAD Atlanta student majoring within the School of Fine Arts. Eligible applicants must retain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average, demonstrate financial need, and demonstrate leadership ability. This scholarship is not renewable.

Communication Arts Endowed Scholarship
This US $2,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a SCAD Atlanta student majoring within the School of Communication Arts, which includes advertising, graphic design, illustration, and sequential art. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time, have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of Spring quarter, and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Edward Ross Scholarship
Established in memory of Edward Ross, alumnus and professor of art at the Atlanta College of Art, this US $175 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate SCAD Atlanta student. The recipient must be majoring in a liberal arts program and demonstrate financial need.

Film and Digital Media Endowed Scholarship
This US $2,700 scholarship is awarded annually to a SCAD Atlanta student majoring in animation, film and television, motion media design, interactive design and game development, sound design or visual effects. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time, have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of Spring quarter, and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Fred Gregory Scholarship
Established in memory of Fred Gregory, associate professor of painting at the Atlanta College of Art, this US $200 scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate SCAD Atlanta student enrolled in painting, photography, sculpture or printmaking.

Gene Arthur Allcott Scholarship I

Established in memory of Atlanta College of Art alumnus Gene Arthur Allcott, this US $4,500 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time SCAD Atlanta senior majoring in painting with a grade point average of 3.0. The recipient must have completed 135 credit hours by the beginning of fall quarter.

Gene Arthur Allcott Scholarship II
Established in memory of Atlanta College of Art alumnus Gene Arthur Allcott, this US $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time SCAD Atlanta junior majoring in painting with a grade point average of 3.0. Eligible applicants must have completed 90 credit hours by the beginning of fall quarter.

Gene Arthur Allcott Scholarship III
Established in memory of Atlanta College of Art alumnus Gene Arthur Allcott, this US $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time SCAD Atlanta rising sophomore majoring in painting with a grade point average of 3.0. Eligible applicants must have completed 45 credit hours by the beginning of fall quarter.

Glenda Knight Keyes Prize for Outstanding Talent
Three US $5,000 scholarships are awarded annually to an undergraduate, domestic, SCAD Atlanta student majoring in painting. Eligible applicants must have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter,maintain a 3.0 cumulative grade point average, be enrolled full-time, and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio for review.

Guthrie Foster Scholarship
This scholarship was established in honor of Elizabeth Guthrie Foster, the first woman to head the Atlanta College of Art. This US $700 scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate SCAD Atlanta student who is majoring in a liberal arts program.

Helen Seydel Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Helen Seydel, a patron of the arts in Atlanta who was killed in the 1962 Air France crash at Orly. This US $2,200 scholarship is awarded to a SCAD Atlanta senior painting major. The recipient must have a grade point average of 2.7 and demonstrate financial need.

Hong Kong Scholarship
This US $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a full-time undergraduate student currently enrolled at SCAD Hong Kong without plans of transferring locations. Eligible applicants must have completed at least 45 minimum credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter, hold a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Holder Construction Scholarship

This US $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time SCAD Atlanta junior or senior with a grade point average of 3.0 and a demonstrated financial need.

James V. Carmichael Scholarship
Established in memory of James V. Carmichael, a prominent Atlanta business and civic leader, this US $200 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time SCAD Atlanta undergraduate student upon recommendation of SCAD Atlanta faculty members.

Joel C. Reeves Scholarship
Established in memory of Joel C. Reeves, Atlanta artist and former dean of the Atlanta College of Art, this US $2,500 scholarship is awarded annually to a full-time SCAD Atlanta undergraduate student that excels in drawing or painting. Recipient must have a grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need.

KALA
This US $3,000 scholarship, created by photographer Katie Walker and printmaker Laura Bollman, is awarded annually to a full-time, graduate student seeking a degree in printmaking from SCAD Atlanta. Eligible applicants must demonstrate leadership ability and be enrolled in a photography course or demonstrate the use of photography within printmaking portfolio.Finalists will be requested to submit a portfolio. This scholarship is renewable.

Liberal Arts Endowed Scholarship
This US $2,800 scholarship is awarded annually to a SCAD Atlanta student majoring within the School of Liberal Arts, which includes writing, arts administration and art history. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time, have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of Spring quarter, and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Perry and Lula Griffis Scholarship
This US $750 scholarship, created by Dr. Teresa Griffis, is awarded annually to a full-time, graduate student seeking a degree in writing from SCAD Atlanta. Eligible applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 4.0, demonstrate leadership ability, and will have completed 15 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter. Finalists will be requested to submit a portfolio. This scholarship is renewable.

Phenomenal Focus: Award for Excellence in Photography Scholarship

Two US $600 scholarships are awarded annually to two SCAD Atlanta photography majors with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The recipients will be selected by SCAD Atlanta photography faculty members.

School of Design Endowed Scholarship

This US $2,700 scholarship is awarded annually to a SCAD Atlanta student majoring within the School of Design, which includes interior design and fashion. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time, have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of Spring quarter, and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

School of Fine Arts Endowed Scholarship
This US $2,300 scholarship is awarded annually to a SCAD Atlanta student majoring within the School of Fine Arts, which includes painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time, have completed 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of Spring quarter, and demonstrate financial need. Finalists will be required to submit a portfolio.

Sue Rokfalusi Fund
This scholarship was established by professor Mark Rokfalusi and his sister, Vivian Rokfalusi, in honor of their mother, Sue. This US $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to a full-time student studying advertising, graphic design or illustration enrolled at the SCAD Atlanta campus. The winning student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate leadership ability.

Vesta Johnson Scholarship

Established in memory of Vesta Johnson by her sister Mrs. Earl Croft, this US $700 scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate SCAD Atlanta student based on the recommendation of SCAD Atlanta faculty.

Institutional off-campus programs scholarships

Current students that have been accepted to study on an off-campus program may apply to receive travel scholarships. These are administered through the office of Student Financial Services. If you're participating in one of SCAD's upcoming off-campus programs and are interested in obtaining a scholarship for the trip (including Lacoste and Hong Kong), you may direct questions via e-mail.

Ben C. Morris Memorial Scholarship
In memory of SCAD professor Ben C. Morris, who taught at the college for 13 years in five different departments, a scholarship equal to the tuition for one course is awarded in a competition for students attending any off-campus program.

European Travel Scholarship
This US $2,800 scholarship is awarded in a competition for students attending off-campus programs in Europe.

Lacoste Campus Program Fee Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Lauren Amos, Atlanta College of Art alumna. Two US $5,000 scholarships are awarded to SCAD Atlanta students majoring in fashion or photography. The recipients must be full-time students, demonstrate financial need and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. A successful portfolio review is also required.

Neely Elizabeth Toohill Memorial Scholarship
This US $2,000 scholarship is awarded in a competition for students attending any off-campus program.

Paris Market and Brocante Scholarship
This US $1,000 scholarship was established to nurture and support the artistic dreams of a candidate who wishes to study at SCAD Lacoste. Eligible applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate financial need.

Prix Heliographique

This US $1,500 scholarship, established by SCAD professor Craig Stevens, is awarded once annually to a photography student participating in the off-campus program in France and/or Italy. Applicants must submit a portfolio to be juried by photography department faculty.

SCAD Lacoste Board of Trustees Travel Scholarship

A quarterly scholarship of US $900 to pay travel expenses is awarded to a student attending SCAD Lacoste. Recipients must be full-time undergraduate or graduate students with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 who demonstrate financial need. Eligible applicants will have completed a minimum of 45 credit hours at SCAD by the end of spring quarter.
