Scott Newman (B.F.A., graphic design, 2001) has been included in the prestigious Graphis Logo Design 7 annual. Newman created the logo for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Ball as an Atlanta community outreach project. Graphis Logo Design 7 includes the latest work by more than 300 designers from around the globe. It also features profiles and interviews with some of the world’s most respected logo designers. Chief academic officer Tom Fischer has released the first edition of his book "Paradise/Paradox," a collection of photographs including images of places revered for their perfection of form, historic cultural landscapes and views of paradise lost. The book was designed by

Out of more than 4,300 entries, SCAD's "Sequential Art Anthology 2007: Discovered" was selected for the Brochure, Promotional Design and Advertising category. This piece showcases the best of SCAD's sequential art department, with art direction/design by
Scott Newman(B.F.A., graphic design, 2001) and cover illustration by sequential art professor
Julie Collins-Rousseau. To assure that selections become part of a permanent accessible historical record of notable graphic design-the
AIGA Design Archives-each piece is published online with traditional credit information; the physical artifact becomes part of the AIGA Design Archives housed at the Denver Art Museum; and is published in the AIGA annual "365: AIGA Year in Design."
