To submit payment by electronic check, please log in to your MySCAD student account and complete the following steps:

  • Select the My Info tab.
  • Locate the My Student Account channel.
  • Click the "Make a Payment" link.
  • Click "Enter new electronic check information."

Only checks from a U.S. domestic bank (including most credit unions) may be used. Be sure to enter the accurate routing/transit and account numbers from your check. If you enter incorrect values, or if you attempt to use a check that is not from a regular U.S. domestic bank checking account, your electronic check will be returned.

Do not use any check marked "Do Not Use for ACH."  You cannot enter your debit or credit card number as an electronic check.

If you are unsure whether your check can be used or as to how to locate the routing/transit and account numbers, call your bank.  Ask if your account can be used for ACH, and verify the correct numbers to enter.

After confirming the information is correct, submit your payment.

Late Fees
A late payment fee of US$150 is charged when a student has an outstanding balance after the payment due date indicated in the SCAD student billing statement.

A student who is in arrears to any SCAD department may not receive academic transcripts or a diploma. Collection costs are added to all accounts assigned to SCAD's collection service.

Failure to meet financial obligations may result in dismissal from SCAD.

A: Cash, check, money order or traveler's check payments may be taken in person at SCAD student financial services in Atlanta, Hong Kong and Savannah; Turner Express in Savannah; and the SCAD Card offices in Atlanta and Savannah.

Q: Why doesn't SCAD accept VISA debit and credit cards for payment of student account charges?
A: Visa rules allow for a flat transaction fee rather than a standard percentage of the transaction as a convenience fee. SCAD considers it most equitable to exclude Visa.

Q: Why did SCAD decide to no longer accept VISA debit and credit cards now?
A: To continue providing the highest quality education for the lowest possible tuition. In order to allow tuition dollars to be used to benefit students rather than pay debit and credit card processing fees.

Q: What if I only have a Visa debit or credit card?
A: If you have a Visa debit card which drafts from your checking account, we can accept a check. If paying online, you can set up an electronic check. We can no longer accept a Visa credit card for payment.

Q: How can I avoid the 2.75 percent convenience fee when making a payment to SCAD?
A: Only debit and credit card transactions are assessed the convenience fee. The following methods of payments do not have a convenience fee:

  • MySCAD online secure payment in U.S. dollars with electronic check.
