A poster by alumna Leila Singleton (B.F.A., graphic design, 2003) was selected for The 4th Block's VII International Triennial of Eco-Poster exhibition in Kharkov, Ukraine. Established in 1991 to commemorate the Chernobyl disaster, the Triennial aims to represent "the most significant art achievements of the world design community on ecological subject matter." Singleton's entry was a revamped design she originally created in a class taught by SCAD professor Louis Baker.

The Nashville Scene's Critic's Pick featured a write-up of a June 6 exhibition by SCAD painting professor Michael Brown, students Adin Murray and Charles Clary, and alumna Whitney Wood (M.F.A., 2008), as well as Brett Osborn, SCAD-Atlanta academic director and professor of foundation studies and sculpture. The exhibition featured sculpture, painting, installation and video.

The graphic novel "The Surrogates" illustrated by alumnus Brett Weldele (B.F.A., sequential art, 2000) has been made into a feature film called "Surrogates" starring Bruce Willis. Disney- Touchstone optioned the rights to the comic book, which was published by Top Shelf Productions.

Mojgani book nominated for Pushcart Prize
Anis Mojgani (B.F.A., sequential art, 1999) is the 2006 and 2005 National Poetry Slam Individual Champion. In 2007, Mojgani won the international World Cup Poetry Slam. He has performed for HBO and NPR. His first book, "Over the Anvil We Stretch," from Write Bloody Publishing, is a 2008 Puchcart Prize Nominee.
