Dakota Jackson Master Class to examine ‘Aesthetic Theory’

Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013

Kiah Hall, Second floor board room

Savannah, GA

227 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

As part of the Dakota Jackson Master Class series, SCAD photography professor Joshua Jalbert's lecture, "On Happiness and the Promise of Art in Theodor Adorno's Aesthetic Theory," will provide an introduction to the last major work by Theodor W. Adorno, a German sociologist, philosopher and musicologist known for his critical theory of society. The “Aesthetic Theory” is perhaps the most important philosophical study of art of the 20th century, but remains a fragment due to the author’s sudden death in 1969.

The lecture is free and open to the public. Seating is limited. For more information or to RSVP, email Danira Ibarra-Beckmann.
