Join us for a viewing of "The First Monday in May," (2016) introduced by Kevin Knaus, SCAD professor of fashion marketing and management.

"The First Monday in May" follows the creation of The Metropolitan Museum of Art's most attended fashion exhibition in history, "China: Through The Looking Glass," an exploration of Chinese-inspired Western fashions by Andrew Bolton, the museum's Costume Institute curator.

With unprecedented access, filmmaker Andrew Rossi captures the collision of haute couture and celebrity at the Met Gala, chaired by Vogue Editor-in-Chief, Anna Wintour, every year. Featuring a cast of renowned artists, including filmmaker Wong Kar-wai and fashion designers Karl Lagerfeld, Jean Paul Gaultier and John Galliano, as well as a host of contemporary pop icons such as Rihanna, this film illuminates the complex relationship between fashion and art.
