Visual Effects

SCAD alumni work on nearly every major film in Hollywood. The reason: SCAD students are experts in emerging technologies whose professional abilities lead to success after graduation. The SCAD visual effects department consistently embraces industry feedback to develop focused and rigorous academic classes and offer the highest-caliber resources available.

Field of vision

SCAD is the first university in the United States to offer an accredited degree program in visual effects and continues to lead the discipline. Visual effects artists combine the skills of a computer programmer with the artistry of a designer. As members of motion picture, television and animation production teams, visual effects artists turn scriptwriters' and filmmakers' inventions into visual representation. Visual effects artists work closely with other media professionals, and visual effects students often choose a minor in a complementary subject such as film and television or photography.

Visual effects is offered in Atlanta, Hong Kong and Savannah.
