"Once on This Island" is a catchy, Caribbean-flavored version of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale "The Little Mermaid," with music by the Tony Award-winning songwriting team of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. This upbeat musical captures the imagination with tender ballads and colorful dance numbers as it tells the courageous story of the power of love. Savannah Film Festival Oct. 25-Nov. 1 Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St., Savannah, Ga. Categories include feature, short, animation, documentary and student film.
