Self Assessment

Review and respond to the following questions to determine if SCAD-eLearning programs may be right for you.
1.   I feel I can get a quality learning experience outside of a traditional classroom setting.  
   
   
2.   I understand that online courses are not easier than traditional classroom courses, and require just as much, if not more, time and effort to succeed.  
   
   
3.   I consider myself a competent and skilled reader.  
   
   
4.   I am comfortable communicating and expressing myself in writing.  
   
   
5.   I can devote 12 to 15 hours per week to EACH of my online courses.  
   
   
6.   I am very comfortable working independently with some feedback from the professor.  
   
   
7.   I understand how I learn best and am able to adapt my learning style to most educational opportunities.  
   
   
8.   When I experience difficulty with new concepts or with assignments, I am comfortable asking for help.  
   
   
9.   I have good organizational skills, and am able to motivate myself to accomplish tasks and assignments without much oversight.  
   
   
10.   I am capable of managing my time and can balance a full schedule that may include work, school, family and personal responsibilities.  
   
   
11.   I rely heavily on all the resources available to me as a student, including the textbook, course material and notes, syllabus, and online library.  
   
   
12.   I am at ease with using a computer and technology and with learning new skills.  
   
   
13.   I have regular access to a computer with an Internet connection and to other hardware or software that may be required for my degree program.  
   
   
14.   I am able to log on to the Internet and navigate to specific Web sites.  
   
   
15.   I am able to locate information online via a search engine, such as Google or Yahoo.  
   
   
16.   I have an e-mail account, and regularly send and receive e-mail and e-mail attachments.  
   
   
17.   I am generally comfortable with word-processing software and am able to create and save documents.  
   
   
18.   I am generally comfortable with imaging software and am able to produce and save image files.
