Ryan Bacha awarded Teaching Excellence Award
Architecture professor Ryan Bacha has been awarded the Vulcan Materials Company Teaching Excellence Award. This annual award recognizes an outstanding faculty member at a Georgia Independent College Association member institution who has made outstanding contributions to undergraduate education, student learning and campus life. -
Randy Moffett co-winner of teaching award
Liberal arts professor Randy Moffett was honored as a co-winner of the 2012 Georgia Political Science Association Annual Teaching Excellence Award (GATE). The GATE Award is designed to recognize excellence in teaching methods, as demonstrated at the annual conference each year in the annual teaching workshop. -
Alumni Chad Newsom completed Ph.D.
Chad R. Newsom (M.A., cinema studies, 2008) completed his Ph.D. in English and film studies from the University of Florida, where he studied film under Robert B. Ray. He received full tuition, a stipend and a supplemental Alumni Fellowship to support his studies. He taught lower- and upper-division classes in both film studies and composition, and was awarded the English department's "Excellence in Teaching" in 2010. He completed a dissertation about film criticism, close reading, and the films of Douglas Sirk.
