Library Education
The Jen Library offers comprehensive orientation and bibliographic instruction programs. Library instruction is available to students through the first-year seminar course, subject-based classes and individual consultations, teaching students how to locate and evaluate information using the library's electronic and print resources. In addition, on-site computer services staff maintain library systems and assist users with computer-related questions.

Interlibrary Loans
The Jen Library’s interlibrary loan department borrows materials from other libraries for patrons’ research needs. SCAD e-Learning students and students at SCAD-Atlanta utilize the interlibrary loan service to access resources housed at Jen Library in Savannah.

Reserves
Materials that professors request as course reserves are kept behind the circulation desk on the first floor. Reserve materials are noncirculating and may only be used in the library. A SCAD ID is required to use reserve materials. The circulation desk keeps a notebook containing the reserve lists of all professors.

Resources
The Jen Library provides access to many electronic databases and print materials that support the college’s curriculum and cover a wide array of subjects. The library’s extensive holdings include books, periodicals, multimedia resources and special collections of rare books, student theses and unique items.Numerous computers and computer network connections provide access to the Internet, database subscriptions purchased by the library and a variety of software programs. Library users also enjoy access to multimedia classrooms and a 12-by-10-foot video wall that showcases images of college events and student work.

Writing Center

The Writing Center offers students, faculty and staff individualized and small-group assistance with aspects of the writing process, including prewriting strategies, structuring ideas, developing thesis statements and formulating cover letters, as well as other projects.
