Network Services and Advanced Technologies

The network services division provides the following:
  • College-wide telephone services
  • Coordination of college optical fiber cable plant installation and maintenance
  • Operation and maintenance of computer network equipment
  • Continued development of college-wide information network systems and services
  • Ongoing investigation involving evaluation and testing of innovative computer networking technologies
  • Computer networks planning and design
  • Computer network installation and maintenance
  • Computer network department software installation

Employees of the network services and advanced technology department also provide support for the technology at the Atlanta campus including:

  • Tier 2 technical support for Mac and PC workstations
  • Installation, maintenance and upgrades for all office and lab computer hardware
  • Up-to-date computer lab equipment with the latest industry-standard software releases
  • Basic on-site familiarization training for users
  • Software package installation, configuration and upgrades
  • Support for the latest computer peripherals, such as printers/plotters, scanners, slide scanners, PDAs and portable storage media
  • Technical support for college events and student orientation/registration
  • Loaner mobile computer equipment for faculty and staff
  • Certified warranty repair of Dell, HP and Apple college-owned equipment
