Sculpture exists in both the interior and exterior realms. Sculptors look within themselves as artists to develop their personal vision while also considering the function of their craft in a public context. Collaborating with other SCAD programs, the sculpture department explores endless combinations of construction in any material, using a variety of techniques to create work for both public and private spaces.
Sculptural success
SCAD sculpture students gain a broad range of technical skills with equal attention paid to professional development. Through the department's facilities, career opportunities and rigorous curriculum, students acquire a strong understanding of their individual voices as well as the practices required to attain their goals with respect to galleries, commissions, public art, education and industry.Sculpture is offered in Atlanta with a minor offered in Savannah.

Leading-edge facility
The ACA Sculpture Studio of SCAD contains an open concept studio, student gallery, full wood and metal shops, state-of-the art foundry and electronic media lab, also offering a rapid prototyping/3-D modeling component. Trained technicians assist students with techniques and equipment.

National exposure
The SCAD sculpture department offers many ways to learn outside the classroom through M.F.A. and B.F.A. exhibitions; internships at venues including MoMA PS1, Eyebeam, and the Atlanta Botanical Garden; events and conferences such as the SCAD Sand Arts Festival and SECAC; and special projects including the Atlanta BeltLine public art installation.
