SCAD is a leader in offering a broad range of specialized sculpture classes, encouraging students to explore a variety of approaches from 3-D modeling to traditional practices.
Located next to the High Museum of Art in Midtown Atlanta, the SCAD sculpture facility - originally designed by famed architect Renzo Piano - is one of the Southeast's finest.
SCAD sculpture emphasizes national exposure by providing students more than 70 opportunities annually for exhibitions, competitions, studio visits, field trips and more.

Sculpture professor Andrew Scott was featured in a roundtable discussion with artists Mary Hartman and James Zdaniewski and Savannah Magazine associate editor and Web editor Jim Signorile (M.F.A., writing, 2008) about art patronage, critiquing and other topics (including SCAD!).
Savannah Magazine features Penny, SCAD twice

The Savannah Magazine featured SCAD twice in its recently published "The Best" issue. Will Penny, M.F.A. painting student and alumnus (B.F.A. painting 2008), was selected to appear in the inaugural column "In Studio" that is aimed at promoting Savannah-based talent. The article describes him as "...one of the [painting] program's brightest lights."
Whittington, Turk win Working Artists Project

SCAD foundation studies professor Martha Whittington and sculpture professor Gregor Turk are winners of the 2011-12 Museum of Contemporary Art of Georgia Working Artists Project, an awards program to support established visual artists of merit who reside in the Atlanta metropolitan area. This program is supported by a major grant from the Charles Loridans Foundation. As winners, Whittington and Turk receive $12,000 each, a paid intern and an exhibition.
