"A Master of American Invention" panel reflects on Stephen Burrows' career

Join Stephen Burrows, the 2014 André Leon Talley Lifetime Achievement Award honoree, as he reflects upon his legendary life and colorful career with two women who gave life to his designs — iconic models and muses Pat Cleveland and Bethann Hardison. Moderated by fashion historian Carmela Spinelli, SCAD coordinator of special projects, panelists will discuss how Burrows' designs helped shape fashion history. The panelists will relive the legendary Franco-American fashion faceoff at Versailles in 1973, where Cleveland and Hardison modeled for Burrows, and the trio's flawless designs and performances at the show helped to tear down fashion industry color barriers.
