Classic rock ‘n’ roll music provided the soundtrack to jewelry designer Eddie Borgo’s formative years, and the genre’s influence on his collections is evident. His subtly subversive designs are inspired by a myriad of rock references and remain both cutting edge and timeless.
Launched in 2008, the Eddie Borgo Collection is a culmination of Borgo’s years spent crafting one-of-a-kind pieces for stylists such as Tabitha Simmons, Camilla Nickerson and Patti Wilson, and collaborations with Phillip Lim, Joseph Altuzarra, Proenza Schouler and Marchesa. Just one season later, he struck gold with his now-signature cone bracelet, a modern take on the punk rock aesthetic, melding a refined fine-jewelry sensibility with a street ethos.
His collection is available at more than 100 luxury stores, from Bergdorf Goodman in New York City and London’s Harrods, to Colette in Paris and Hong Kong’s Lane Crawford. Borgo continues to design bespoke creations; his recent entrées include bullet book straps, tri-level jewelry boxes, custom headpieces and sculptural handbags.
Borgo was the 2011 recipient of both the CFDA Swarovski Award for Accessory Design and the Tiffany & Co. Development Grant. He also was runner-up for the 2010 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award. A native of Atlanta, Georgia, he lives and works in New York City.
