2011-12 Junior 2-D Finalists
About this challenge
This year, the SCAD Challenge junior 2-D competition called for original works of art created in traditional 2-D media. High school juniors from around the world responded with nearly 150 entries created using pastels, oil paint, pencil and scratchboard, among many other media. From this diverse offering, the SCAD Challenge mentors chose 33 works that showed the best technical skill and artistic judgment.
The panel of faculty judges reviewed these finalists and selected the three entrants whose work demonstrated the greatest potential for success in a SCAD pre-college summer program. These three winners will be awarded a scholarship to attend either SCAD Summer Seminars or Pre-college: Rising Star.
