Accessories Application deadline March 1, 2012

Submission Guidelines

Students should submit an original handbag design.

Requirements for entries
  • Handbags may be constructed out of any material, but the finished product must be functional.
  • Students must construct the handbag themselves. Sewing, stitching, cutting, ripping, gluing, stapling, shredding, tearing, dyeing, tying and various other methods may be employed. Students are also allowed to embellish their bags with sequins, studs, beads, etc.
  • Students must submit photographs of the finished piece taken from at least three views; front, back and three-quarter angles are recommended, but students may submit additional views, such as shots from above and images of the purse being modeled.
  • Photos of the finished handbag should be taken against a neutral background.
  • Submissions must be presented as high-quality JPEG files, with a file suffix of .jpg or .jpeg, and saved at a screen resolution of 72 dpi with a height/weight minimum of 1,000 pixels.
  • Image filenames should include the student’s last name, first name and title of the piece: for example, “smith_john_ridingthewaves.jpg.” Please refrain from using “untitled.”
  • Images should closely resemble the original work, using accurate colors and no digital manipulation. Images should reflect a professional presentation and should be cropped and rotated in the proper orientation. All work must be original.
