School of Digital Media
Digital media is fast becoming the pervasive means of communication for both popular culture and artistic expression. The proliferation of Internet and mobile content, digital storytelling and interactive experience points to an increasingly digital communication future. Throughout the SCAD School of Digital Media, the educational model emulates professional experience. Students work with current, industry-standard hardware and software, learn from faculty who are practitioners as well as mentors, and have opportunities for collaboration. Courses enhance and facilitate creative expression while emphasizing vital production skills and techniques.
Animation
Animation professionals employ their craft in film, television, Internet media and video games, combining artistic vision and technical mastery to bring artwork to life. They are knowledgeable about the theories associated with the medium as well as its contemporary context and history.View this program
Interactive Design and Game Development
Professionals in interactive design and game development fuse artistic and technical knowledge to design and develop digital and non-digital games, rich-media Internet and mobile applications, virtual and physical computing environments, and emerging forms of human/computer interaction.View this program
Motion Media Design
Motion media designers work at the intersection of the on-air promotion, advertising, and content production industries and kinetic abstract art. They craft communications using the principles and tools of the filmmaker, the graphic designer, the animator and the interactive media designer. Their time-based work creates an illusion of motion and transformation.View this program
Television Producing
The role of the television producer is to coordinate and control all aspects of production, ranging from show idea development and cast hiring to shoot supervision and fact-checking. It is often the producer who is responsible for the show's overall quality and ability to survive, though the roles depend on the particular show or organization.View this program
Visual Effects
Visual effects artists are experts in believable illusion who create images that are impossible to shoot in the real world. As members of motion picture, television, animation and emerging technology production teams at studios large and small, visual effects artists enable filmmakers to achieve their most ambitious visions.View this program
