Ceramics
Participants explore the ceramics medium hands-on in the studio with a variety of clay-based projects transferable to any grade level. These projects include creating sculpture, fabricating ceramic maps, and printmaking with clay and pigment. Throughout the week, an additional emphasis is placed on using public artwork and public spaces as a teaching tool.
Printmaking
This hands-on workshop addresses beginning and intermediate techniques in monoprint, relief and polyester plate lithography and how to apply these in the classroom. Participants have the opportunity to learn new techniques in printmaking as well as hone existing skills while working on a series of prints to establish a portfolio representing several different techniques in the print media. Daily activities include hands-on experiences, rolling critiques and peer interaction.
