Atlanta*
Session I: June 20–26
Session II: June 27–July 3

* Students may attend only one session per location.

SCAD Atlanta is situated in the fast-paced professional marketplace of a major metropolitan hub for business, the arts and transportation. Located on Peachtree Street in Atlanta’s Midtown, SCAD Atlanta offers classroom and exhibition space, well-equipped computer labs, a library, photography darkrooms, printmaking and sculpture studios, residence halls, a fitness center and more in a dynamic learning environment.
Savannah*
Session I: June 20–26
Session II: June 27–July 3
Session III: July 11–17
Session IV: July 18–24

SCAD Savannah is located in the heart of the city’s renowned National Historic Landmark District, a vibrant community of art, architecture and culture that attracts visitors from all over the world. Facilities include classrooms, studios, computer labs, darkrooms, galleries, libraries, theaters, residence halls, dining facilities and fitness centers.

Cost

Residential $1,100 (USD)
The residential program fee includes tuition for two five-day workshops, six nights housing, 17 meals, social events and workshop supplies. Students attend one morning and one afternoon workshop.

Nonresidential $900 (USD)
The nonresidential program fee includes tuition for two five-day workshops, lunch Monday through Friday, social events and workshop supplies. Students attend one morning and one afternoon workshop.

 

The following application materials are required and must be received by May 15, 2010.


The following documents must be submitted together in one envelope.

  • High school transcript; official is preferred (include Fall 2009 grades.)
  • One recommendation. The recommendation should be completed by a teacher; preferably an art teacher. The recommendation may not come from a family member or friend.
  • One-page essay explaining why you would like to participate in SCAD Summer Seminars and what you hope to gain from the experience.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
Students who have been accepted into a SCAD Summer Seminars session and have paid their program fee are considered enrolled in the program. SCAD Summer Seminars sessions are limited in size and are filled on a first-paid, first-registered basis.

Students who cancel enrollment more than two weeks prior to the start date of their session receive a full refund less a $40 (USD) processing fee. Students who cancel enrollment later than two weeks prior to the start date of their session receive a refund of 80 percent of the program fee. Students who cancel enrollment due to extenuating circumstances are granted a full refund less the $40 (USD) processing fee, upon written request. Refunds are not granted to students who are dismissed from the program for disciplinary reasons.

Scholarships
A limited number of full scholarships are available based on the scholarship nomination application. Students who excel artistically and exhibit financial need are eligible. To be considered, students must be nominated by a teacher or a guidance counselor. A nomination for scholarship consideration does not guarantee that a student will be awarded a scholarship. Educators interested in nominating a student for scholarship consideration may contact SCAD for the nomination application. Only one nomination per school is accepted. All educator nominations must be received at SCAD by April 1, 2010, and must be accompanied by the supporting documents listed on the nomination form. Scholarships include housing, meals, two five-day workshops (one morning, one afternoon), workshop supplies, social activities and events. Scholarships do not include application fee, travel expenses or SCAD transportation to and/or from the airport.
