Advanced Placement Institute 2012


Advanced Placement Institute sessions offered include: English literature and composition, studio art, and art history. Each week long institute includes 30 contact hours of instruction, equivalent to 3.0 SDUs or PLUs *. All classes are held at 1600 Peachtree Street in Midtown Atlanta.


* Professional Learning Units-Georgia teachers who require professional learning units to maintain statewide teaching certification may receive PLUs for the successful completion of the Advanced Placement Institute. A course record is issued to principals, schools or school districts upon completion of the program to verify participation. One PLU is earned for each 10 contact hours of classroom instruction. No college credit is earned.


Registration and Payment Information


Registration Fee: $50 (non-refundable)


Program Fee: $550 secures place in program. Includes daily workshops, all workshop supplies, welcome reception, orientation breakfast and lunch Monday - Friday


Housing Fee: $325 includes a room in apartment-style university housing, and all meals from, Sunday dinner - Saturday breakfast. Accepted forms of payment for online registration include Visa, MasterCard and Discover only.

Registration is not confirmed until the minimum, nonrefundable $50 deposit payment has been received. The deadline for registration and full payment of fees is June 1. As sessions fill a waitlist will be created.
