SAVANNAH, Georgia - U.S. News and World Report named SCAD one of the nation's best colleges for 2012. The annual "Best Colleges" guide highlights those colleges and universities that provide the best academic quality and value.
SCAD is noted among the publication's specialty schools - art classification, a selection of colleges and universities that offer most or all of their degrees in visual or performing arts. Only 59 of the 1,600 schools profiled by U.S. News and World Report for the 2012 edition met the criteria for the specialty schools-art list.
"All of SCAD's academic programs are nonpareil in higher education, and this recognition by U.S. News and World Report validates the university's indefatigable commitment to provide, for our students, the best art and design educational experience in the world," says
SCAD President Paula Wallace.
SCAD has been consistently noted by U.S. News and World Report as one of the nation's top colleges in its annual guide. The university is regularly lauded by other rankings organizations and publications as well. Over the past five years, Kaplan-Newsweek, BusinessWeek, DesignIntelligence, The Princeton Review, Game Pro magazine, The Daily Beast and 3D World, among many others, have highlighted SCAD in their lists of leading colleges and academic programs.
