HONG KONG - SCAD, the university for creative careers, is celebrating the university's first anniversary in Hong Kong with a big splash-literally. The university has wrapped one of the iconic Hong Kong Star Ferries with a vibrant SCAD-themed design, and the ferry will make waves daily across Victoria Harbour now through mid-November.
The contest is simple. Participants are encouraged to show off their creative photography talents by taking their best picture in front of, on or incorporating the SCAD-themed Star Ferry. Participants should then upload their best image to the SCAD Hong Kong Facebook page by clicking the Star Ferry icon on
facebook.com/scadhk.
SCAD will upload images daily to the SCAD Star Ferry contest page. Participants and their family and friends are encouraged to vote on the best photos. The three photos that get the most votes win. The first place winner will receive a US $300 iTunes gift card. Second and third place winners will receive US $200 and US $100 iTunes gift cards, respectively.
The contest runs now through Nov. 15. More information is available at the SCAD Star Ferry kiosks found at the Central and Tsim Sha Tsui ferry terminals or
online.
Designed by SCAD alumna and graphic designer Rachel Hennon (B.F.A., 2007; M.A., 2008, graphic design), the SCAD Star Ferry features vibrant colors and graceful, fluid lines to reflect the positive energy of SCAD Hong Kong. The university regularly champions the work of its students and alumni through high-profile design projects like the SCAD Star Ferry, giving these talented artists and designers a unique platform to share their creative abilities.
