Published: Oct 10, 2011

SAVANNAH, Georgia - The Savannah College of Art and Design is pleased to host Design*Sponge founder, interior design maven and nationally renowned author Grace Bonney for "An Evening with Design*Sponge," Thursday, Oct. 27, 6-8 p.m., at Arnold Hall, 1810 Bull St.

Bonney will discuss how she created one of the world's most influential design blogs recognized by The New York Times as "'Martha Stewart Living' for the Millennials," answer audience questions, and sign copies of her newly released book, "Design*Sponge at Home."

Bonney founded her monumentally popular Design*Sponge blog in 2004 to explore her love of beautiful design on a budget. Bonney's wit, warmth and charm quickly hooked readers from around the world, who now look to Bonney for her insights and easy-to-follow tips on creating inviting, well-designed spaces.

"Design*Sponge at Home," released on Sept. 6, is Bonney's newest foray into providing practical tips for creating a dream living space. Far more than a do-it-yourself guide, the book features essential interior design tips and tools, sneak peeks into real-life interiors from around the world, and a workshop on floral design, among other highlights.

All attendees are encouraged to bring art supplies to benefit the SCAD Buzz Bus, a program started by SCAD in 2010 that distributes art supplies to local Savannah-area school children. The program has positively impacted more than 2,000 children since its inception.

"An Evening with Design*Sponge" is free and open to the public, though registration is required. Learn more and register to attend.

Media inquiries may be directed to Sunny Nelson with SCAD or Sarah Burningham with Little Bird Publicity.
