To celebrate the official launch of Hong Kong's first design and culture focused map, Creative City has teamed up with the recently opened Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Hong Kong. An exhibition featuring a specially curated selection of poster designs from online magazine, Neue Showusyourtype will be held at SCAD, with the opening event on Tuesday, November 2nd 2010.

Creative City reached out to Neue Showusyourtype, a tri-annual online magazine featuring poster designs of two things - cities and type. A city is chosen for each edition and submissions are invited, with the only requirement being that the designs display the name of the city. Neue Showusyourtype first began with the design capitals of New York, Barcelona and Berlin, and now Hong Kong is featured in the latest edition. A selection of 130 of the most talented work from 525 global submissions, the highest number ever received, will be showcased at Creative City's exhibition to be held at SCAD's Moot Gallery from November 1st-12th. The artworks on display will be printed and sponsored by Green Productions, an environmentally friendly printing press based in Hong Kong.

Devoted to celebrating Hong Kong's creative diversity, Creative City is a map which features direct input from some of the city's established and emerging designers, writers and other creative entrepreneurs. With over 150 locations recommended by the creative insiders, the map also highlights intangible cultural elements that make Hong Kong a uniquely vibrant and dynamic city.

The opening of SCAD's first campus in Asia marks an invaluable addition to Hong Kong's creative and educational landscape, nurturing the next generation of artists and designers. SCAD's significant expertise in the conservation and rehabilitation of historic buildings has transformed the beautiful historic North Kowloon Magistracy Building in Sham Shui Po into a living laboratory for the study of art, architecture and design while retaining many of the original features and facades, including courtrooms and prison cells. By holding the exhibition at SCAD Hong Kong, Creative City aims to bring people to this outstanding campus and institution.
