ATLANTA—Savannah College of Art and Design is awarded a “Benny” for the SCAD Works Spring 2009 catalog in the Printing Industries of America Premier Print competition. The Benny was awarded for the best entry in the
Service Catalog category. This year, more than 3,200 entries were received from the best printing firms representing 14 countries. 2010 marks the 61ST year of the Premier Print competition known as the industries most prestigious international awards program.
The project was printed by Geographics, an Atlanta-based print and marketing services firm. Norvin Hagan, president, of Geographics stated, “We have worked with Rachel Davies and the SCAD design team on a number of projects. We knew we had produced something very special in the SCAD Works Spring issue. I was not surprised the entry received recognition, and the Benny is the highest award our industry offers. It’s not just a homerun; it’s a grand slam! We are delighted that the creative team at SCAD will be celebrated for achieving excellence in print.” This award-winning issue of SCAD Works was designed, edited and produced by SCAD’s in-house communications team. The piece utilized UV Inks and was printed on French Smart White paper by Geographics’ Heidelberg XL105 press."
