SAVANNAH, Ga.–The Savannah College of Art and Design presents the fourth annual Art Materials Trade Show, highlighting demonstrations and lectures from leading industry professionals at the River Club, 3 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Oct. 2, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

The event is coordinated by the SCAD School of Foundation Studies to fund student scholarships, and the university will welcome more than 50 exhibitors who will demonstrate hundreds of art and design materials used in a wide range of fields.

The 2010 show features new products and the best of traditional art and design materials and supplies for sale at wholesale prices. Industry experts will also offer academic, business-oriented, practical and scientific/technical seminars. The trade show and seminars are free and open to the public Sept. 30 and Oct. 1-2. The Art Materials Trade Show Seminar Series will feature free lectures/demonstrations by experts and technicians from the art and design materials industry, and conservators from the National Gallery of Art, who will conduct demonstrations and discuss historical and contemporary applications and techniques. Topics include safety and testing, research and development, archival nature of art and design materials, and up-to-the-minute changes in art and design.

The trade show exhibition and lectures are free and open to the public.
