SAVANNAH, Ga.-The Savannah College of Art and Design presents "Small Works," an annual exhibition for the holiday season featuring original work by SCAD artists. The exhibition, which takes place Nov. 20-Dec. 24 at Gutstein Gallery, 201 E. Broughton St., is free and open to the public. An opening reception, also free and open to the public, is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 20.
“Small Works” features affordable art priced at $500 or less and measuring up to 18 inches by 18 inches. The pieces highlight a wide range of media including photography, painting, sculpture, collage and fiber. SCAD students, faculty, alumni and staff created all of the art on display.
The first “Small Works” exhibition debuted in Savannah in 1979, and the show quickly became a university tradition heralding the holiday season. Gutstein Gallery, SCAD’s premier gallery venue in Savannah, hosts the work of prominent artists as well as SCAD alumni and faculty. Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1-4 p.m.
