Motion Media Design

SCAD is one of few U.S. universities to offer degree programs in the distinct discipline of motion media design. SCAD students learn through the combination of conceptual, practical and aesthetic applications of motion graphics. Their careers, whether in media production or abstract art, require the hybrid skills of filmmaking, graphic design, animation and interactive design.

The intersection of artistry and technical prowess

Motion designers work in both the fine art and commercial realms. Motion graphics professionals design for media at the intersection of video art, abstract film, computer animation, kinetic layout and typography design. At SCAD, motion media design students use current, industry-standard technology and software including Adobe After Effects and Photoshop as well as Cinema 4D. The SCAD motion media design program emphasizes creativity and conceptual development within the history of abstract animation, visual music and fine art.

Motion media design is offered in Atlanta, Hong Kong, Savannah and online via eLearning.
