Learning Assistance


Overview


In addition to excellent professor instruction, state-of-the-art specialized equipment and cutting-edge technology, SCAD students have access to a wealth of learning resources outside the classroom. SCAD offers a variety of supplemental programs designed to provide students with individual attention focused on their specific academic needs.

Study GroupsWriting Center

Learning assistance is designated by subject or class and is provided to students free of charge. On-site peer tutors are available in Atlanta, Hong Kong and Savannah. Numerous academic and skill-based workshops take place to supplement in-class instruction. Multiple online resources, including full access to Lynda.com and online peer tutoring through SCAD Connect, are available to SCAD eLearning students.

The Writers' Studio
Visit The Writers' Studio for all writing-related assistance. Schedule an appointment with The Writers' Studio through WCOnline.

Drawing and Design Center
Students enrolled in Foundation Studies classes can improve their in-class performance by utilizing individual tutoring and group workshops. Schedule an appointment with a peer tutor through Peer Tutor Connection.

Graduate Mentor Program
Connect with a graduate mentor who will provide guidance through holistic, compassionate and caring peer mentor relationships.

Lynda.com Training
Lynda.com provides access to more than 42,000 online video tutorials on technology topics free to all registered students, staff and faculty.
Atlanta
Drawing and Design Center
The Drawing and Design Center helps students enrolled in foundation studies courses improve their skills and in-class performance through peer tutoring, workshops and open model sessions.

Lecture and Workshop Connection

The Lecture and Workshop Connection provides an area for SCAD Atlanta workshops and lectures to be posted for the SCAD community.

Tutoring Center
The Tutoring Center provides learning assistance tailored to students' specific academic needs in subject areas and software programs pertaining to SCAD courses.

The Writers' Studio at ACA Library of SCAD
The Writers' Studio offers students assistance with all aspects of the writing process through one-on-one consultations, online resources and workshops.
