Interlibrary Loan Request — Books Form
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows SCAD to better serve the information/research needs of its patrons by providing access to materials held at non-SCAD institutions. All requests for ILL and Inter-SCAD loans are received at the Savannah location — Jen Library ILL office.
Current students, faculty and staff may use the ILL service. Patrons must have a valid SCAD ID and no delinquent fines or library materials.
There is no charge for ILL unless the cost to obtain an item exceeds $20. If the lending institution's charges exceed $20, the patron will be contacted and given the option of paying the difference.
Materials not available via ILL include bestsellers, new books, materials with local restrictions (reference, reserve, etc.), rare or valuable materials, bulky or fragile items that are difficult to mail, whole issues of periodicals and unique materials that would be difficult or impossible to replace.
The time it takes to obtain an item can vary considerably. It may take two to four weeks for requested items to arrive.
The loan period for an ILL item is determined by the lending library. Unless restricted, one renewal may be requested no later than five days before the due date (no exceptions). Renewals are not guaranteed. The fine for overdue ILL materials is $5 per day, per item. Overdue ILL fines will not be waived for faculty or staff. The Jen Library reserves the right to withhold ILL service from any patron who abuses the ILL policy.
Direct questions regarding this service to the Interlibrary Loan Coordinator. Email ILL or call 912.525.4658. ILL office hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. If you have trouble using the online forms or do not receive a confirmation screen after submitting a request online, contact the Jen Library.
