What is it?
SCAD Card is a multifunctional identification card with a magnetic strip encoded like a credit or ATM card. Not only is your SCAD Card your ID, but it also may be used as a debit card at SCAD facilities and with retailers in
Atlanta and
Savannah who participate in the SCAD Card program.
How do I get a SCAD Card?
The SCAD Card is available to all SCAD students, faculty and staff.
- Each student is issued an identification card during orientation. This ID card is your SCAD Card. Use it to access card-secure SCAD buildings (including residence halls), attend SCAD-sponsored events, pay for meals, and check out books from the library. To receive your SCAD Card during orientation, present a photo ID (for example, driver's license or passport).
- Faculty and staff are issued cards when they begin employment with SCAD. To learn more, call the human resources department at 912.525.5532.
How do I use it?
To use your SCAD Card, swipe it through the card reader or scanner at any location that accepts it. Your balance is displayed or printed after each transaction.
You may use cash, credit card, money order, SCAD payroll deduction, transfer of credit from your bursar's account, or traveler's check to add credit to your SCAD Card account. Deposits may be made
online at any time; by mail to the SCAD Card Center; or in person at the locations listed. Funds deposited in accounts are available the next business day. Cash withdrawals are not permitted.
Your
meal plan account is automatically added to your SCAD Card if you purchase a meal plan through the bursar's office or SCAD Card Center.
Equipment checkout privileges must be renewed each quarter. Student library accounts are active with a validation sticker for the current quarter.
