New students

To sign up for SCAD housing, students must first pay the $750 enrollment fee ($250 of this amount is the nonrefundable housing reservation fee). To pay by credit card, call 800.869.7223 or 912.525.5100. Checks may be mailed to the bursar's office:

To ensure proper credit, include the student's name, ID number and social security number along with the words "housing fee" on the check. The housing reservation fee may be paid as soon as the student is admitted to SCAD. Deadline to submit the housing reservation fee for fall is June 1.

Returning students

Returning students participate in fall housing sign-up online during spring quarter and must pay the $500 nonrefundable reservation fee on or before the deadline. Students who cancel after June 1 are subject to an additional $250 nonrefundable cancellation fee. Students who wish to be roommates should sign up together and list their mutual roommate requests on their housing applications.

Students must make the quarterly payment by Aug. 1 or forfeit their room assignment and be placed in housing after the payment is made, provided space is available. Students who do not participate in fall housing sign-up are assigned housing according to the procedures for new students. Housing is subject to availability.

Housing guidelines
New students are assigned to housing based on the date their reservation fee is received in the bursar's office. Financial aid, scholarships or other funds may not be available in time to meet the quarterly housing payment deadline. If the authorized financial aid does not cover the balance, or if it is not available by the housing balance deadline, the housing payment must be paid out of pocket. Financial aid authorization may be determined by visiting MySCAD. Select the My Info tab, then select "Student Services and Financial Aid." Click on "Financial Aid," then "My Award Information." If aid has been authorized, be sure to confirm the aid is sufficient to cover housing, as all aid is applied first toward tuition. Students who have to pay out of pocket to ensure payment by the housing balance due date may be eligible for a refund once the aid disburses after the drop/add period of the term. Students must adhere to residence life and housing deadlines to ensure a housing assignment.

Late applicants/fees
Students who do not make housing payments by the posted deadline forfeit their housing assignment. Returning students are subject to an additional $250 nonrefundable cancellation fee. Housing is subject to availability.

Private rooms
Due to the high demand for housing, private rooms generally are not available. Students with medical needs who may require a private room should indicate their needs on the housing application and must provide a letter from a licensed physician certifying any condition that requires specific provisions or necessitates special consideration. The physician's letter should be submitted to counseling and student support services for review by June 1 (for fall) and six weeks prior to the start of every other quarter. SCAD reviews all requests and notifies students once a decision is made. For more information, contact counseling and student support services or the office of residence life.

Graduate housing
A limited number of housing spaces is reserved for graduate students on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, contact residence life and housing.

Why am I not able to sign into MySCAD?
The student may not have paid the enrollment fee (to get an ID) or may have used an incorrect ID or password. Contact admission for assistance.

I've paid my housing reservation fee but I'm unable to apply online. Why can't I apply for housing?
It's too soon for the quarter you are attending. Housing applications are accepted beginning on the following dates: fall quarter-Jan. 1, winter quarter-Sept. 1, spring quarter-Jan. 1, summer quarter-March 1.

I was able to log on to MySCAD, but when I tried to select the housing application link I could not go any further.
If you have not paid your $250 nonrefundable housing reservation fee you will not be allowed to enter into the housing application system.
