    Educators play an important role in preparing students for their academic future and counseling them to choose the right university. At SCAD, students experience learning as part of an expansive community of artists and designers, guided by faculty who are professionals in their fields prepare them for successful creative careers.

    Summer is the perfect time to explore new avenues of artistic development. SCAD offers summer programs for participants of all ages to pursue art and design disciplines and work alongside peers from all over the world. With exceptional facilities, extensive equipment and inspirational settings, SCAD summer programs offer ideal opportunities for artists at all levels to create, learn and grow.

    High school students · Residential or nonresidential · Atlanta and Savannah
    SCAD Summer Seminars offer workshops for high school students who have completed their freshman, sophomore or junior years. Students have the opportunity to gain a valuable educational experience while trying their hands at exciting art and design assignments and projects.

    Rising high school seniors · Residential · Savannah

    Rising Star is a challenging five-week program that awards college credit to rising high school seniors who are ready for a summer college experience. Students enroll in two college-level classes and have
    the opportunity to build or enhance their visual arts portfolios.

    Ages 6-14 · Nonresidential · Atlanta and Savannah
    Combining the expertise and prestige of SCAD with the outstanding faculty and facilities of two highly regarded secondary schools - Savannah Arts Academy in Savannah and The Galloway School in Atlanta - Art Smarts offers an educational adventure in the arts. Theme-based programs are designed to broaden students' understanding and appreciation of the arts.

    Continuing Education

    SCAD offers Continuing Education classes and workshops in Atlanta,  Savannah, and online quarterly throughout the year. Participants learn new creative skills and techniques in small groups. SCAD Continuing Education is open to youth and adults, and most classes and workshops do not require prior experience.


     
    Offering high school students an international stage to exhibit their work, the SCAD Challenge Competition Series seeks the next generation of talented artists and designers. High school seniors and juniors compete to showcase their work at SCAD signature events, and may become eligible for scholarships to SCAD, the most comprehensive art and design university in the world.  
    Life at SCAD is active and engaging within and beyond the classroom. The SCAD experience includes programs and activities that promote student interaction, leadership and community service, and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
