"Flocks", a temporary outdoor art installation of reflective, soft-sculpture birds, by Carolina Aragón (M. Arch, 2001) are suspended in five large groups over Cambridge Street in Cambridge, Massachusetts, through July 8. Inspired by bird and human migrations, the project seeks to create a memorable experience that celebrates the dream that fuels long and difficult migrations and the coming together of groups to create a new life. Yatwan "Evans" Baker (M.F.A., illustration, 2001) wrote, "I am currently enrolled in Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia, obtaining a second master's in art therapy and counseling. I am very excited about this career change because I am taking what I have learned at SCAD to a whole new territory by combining clinical skills to serve the mental healthy population. When I arrived at Inova they had a very broken overall look with absolutely no defined style. Over the past eight months I have worked with their senior leadership to create new guidelines by which the system can be identified. Both of our jobs moved us back to Atlanta at the end of 2007 and I began shooting for Atlanta-based publications. Sarah Brandt-Talreja (B.F.A., computer art, 2001) Produced and Directed "Forget The Past" which is a non-traditional documentary that explores the issues of local and international Indian adoption through the eyes from various children living in Mumbai Orphanages. The film gives voice to several individual stories which are not heard form couples residing in Denmark , India, and the United States. wwwforgetthepast.net. She wrote, "I spent a year in Ann Arbor, Mich., where I was the assistant manager of the Selo/Shevel Gallery. I moved back to my hometown temporarily and took a job to make some money for my next move and ended up meeting the love of my life!" Matthew Duthler (B.F.A., illustration, 2001) wrote, "After teaching in the graphic arts field at college level and freelancing I decided to re-enter the field of full-time design with a private company vs. teaching. After interviewing for positions all over the country, I was pleased to accept an offer as the head graphic designer/marketing from a company within the state of Michigan not far from where I formerly resided and even closer to my parents and family. Great Openings is an OEM manufacturer of office furniture. Current customers include Steelcase, NASA, Boeing, and much more. I couldn't be happier now with my wife, Meredith, son, Oliver, new baby due in April 2009, our two Labradors, and my job. Although I graduated with an illustration degree and shifted into the graphic design field, I feel it has given me an edge over other graphic designers, and a level of versatility above other designers competing in this field. Nate Gillette (M.Arch., 2001) is project manager for Bazzani Associates, a "green" developer and general contractor. He will be working on constructing a LEED Core & Shell pilot project in Grand Rapids, Mich. The building is also a zero storm water discharge site: all storm water will be collected, contained and released back to the environment on-site. This is the first project of its kind in the Grand Rapids area. Gillette and his wife, Tammy, also have a new baby, Jackson Scott, born January 15, 2004.

I must have applied to hundreds of places all over the Eastern seaboard (with credentials in both print and Web design), resulting with only three prospective interviews. I finally get a job offer and accept, to move half way across the country and then the horrific 9-11 happens... ....so the following week, I load up the U-haul and drive to Dallas, Texas where I started my new job at a very cool place called Traxxas! Yes, that was an awkward time to leave my family, and be separate from them half way across the country. However, things did get better of course! So I've been at Traxxas ever since and lovin' it!"
