His choice of landscape subject combines saturated color and a sharp focus romantic sensibility. My interests lead me to more artistic forms of animation and less commercial ones. I went into teaching when a position opened up in Dallas, but I was drawn back to SCAD for its unparalleled facilities, quality of students, and great people. My wife Kelley and I moved back here in 2007. I work on my own animation on the side now and have really grown to love teaching (except grading!) Ric Griffith (B.F.A., video, 1991) After two years as an employee at SCAD's Videoworks, Griffith worked in Nashville, Tenn., on music videos, in South Carolina for feature films, in Atlanta, Ga. on the opening ceremonies for the Olympics and now is based in Los Angeles, Calif. and is working on feature films. He recently was a groomsman in the Savannah wedding of Bob McAllister to Sharon Hetherington.
Ed Hall (B.F.A., photography, 1991) reported from Jacksonville, Fla., where he is now the staff photographer for the Water's Edge, a new magazine published by the Florida Times Union that reflects the lifestyles of Florida's "first coast." During the summer of 1997, Hall traveled to Cologne, Germany, with EarthWatch to photograph St. Kolumba, one of Cologne's thirteen original Romanesque cathedrals, before it was incorporated into a museum for the Diocese of Cologne. Some of these images were on display at the National Trust for Historic Preservation Conference held in Savannah, Ga., in October 1998.
Marcus Hamilton (B.F.A., interior design, 1991) is an art director with Rare Medium-Detroit, a Web design/development and interactive multimedia company in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. He is developing an organization for minorities in the Internet industry in his area. He wrote, "I expanded into films this past year with the short film 'White Bitch Down,' which was just awarded the National 48 Hour Best Film Award for 2002. I tried living in "the big city" of San Francisco, California, but decided I needed more space. Savannah drew me back in, and, I have found my happiness here. Robb Kramer (B.F.A., illustration, 1991) creates oil paintings that have been collected internationally for two decades. His sculpting talents were recently showcased in the stop motion film Coraline. As the productions lead sculptor, Kramer used his unique eye to carve and develop all of the often times, surreal exteriors viewed in the film. It took three years to complete the creation of all the sets required to make the world of Coraline.
