During the summer of 1997, Hall traveled to Cologne, Germany, with EarthWatch to photograph St. Kolumba, one of Cologne's thirteen original Romanesque cathedrals, before it was incorporated into a museum for the Diocese of Cologne. Some of these images were on display at the National Trust for Historic Preservation Conference held in Savannah, Georgia, in October 1998.
